I went to change and went out to a clothes
demonstration at my aunt's house in Newbridge on Wye. I had an enjoyable
evening and ended up as the model!
- Planned for my birthday dinner at Maesmawr
on Saturday night. Rang bowling alley in Shrewsbury and booked 2 lanes for
Saturday.
- Played whist (3 tables) and won 1st ladies
(highest score)!! A splendid social evening.
- Then off to the Black Lion, Hay, meeting friends
for lunch to celebrate a friend's birthday. After a jolly 2 hours and
a good meal we trotted into town to inspect "Cotswold's" new
Autumn range (husbands beware!).
- Our coffee group of 7 met today at the Black
Lion, Hay to celebrate Janet's birthday, when the "birthday girl"
is treated to her meal out. The menu was varied - 2 of us had guinea fowl
casserole, 2 had poached salmon and 3 had mushroom and chicken in a vol-au-vent
with sauce. It was a lovely celebration. Afterwards some went to Cotswolds
(a dress shop) to look at the new Autumn/Winter collection.
- We went out to a Japanese restaurant called
'Koo' just opened in Ludlow. Had a lovely meal - used chopsticks
and tried speaking a little Japanese from the menu - very different. A lovely
anniversary meal.
- I came home from school and went to my cousin's
1st birthday party. We had lots of fun and I really enjoyed it. We had a chocolate
hedgehog birthday cake.
- I returned home, had a very late tea (9.15pm)
and then my friend rang to ask if I would go out for a pint in the Conservative
Club, as he felt he needed to unwind. We didn't get there until 10.15pm,
and shared 3 or 4 pints, chatted with various friends and acquaintances and
returned home about 11.45pm.
- In the evening I read, and played games on
the computer while my husband joined other ringers at Talgarth Church to ring
a quarter peal in honour of the Vicar of Bronllys who is retiring at the end
of September.
- Went to bingo.
- To the Severn Arms at
Penybont in the evening for the weekly quiz. Third in the team event but managed
to win a share of the snowball. Arriving home we were met by a large badger
who gave us a disdainful stare before sidling off into the bushes.
