"I live at Llandrindod in this County and am a laundress. I received a flannel vest on Monday the 14th instant from the nurse at the Cottage Hospital Llandrindod".

"I can candidly take my oath the vest now produced is the same vest that I received from the nurse at the Cottage Hospital on Monday the 14th instant. I washed the vest on Tuesday last the 15th inst. I put it out on Wednesday morning the 16th instant on the garden hedge belonging to Rose Cottage Llandrindod where I live. The garden hedge where I put the vest adjoins the road. I put the vest on the hedge between quarter past eight and half past eight o'clock in the morning. I did not see the vest again until I saw it with the Police Constable William Morris Vaughan. I missed the vest off the hedge about half past nine on Wednesday morning. After I missed the vest I informed Police Constable W. Morris Vaughan of my loss. I know the vest now produced is the same one by the darning on the inside under the arms."

Cafodd ei chroes holi gan y Diffynnydd:

"I have no private mark. I know the vest by the darning under the arms. I saw you pass my house on Wednesday morning the 16th instant about twenty minutes to nine o'clock. I did not notice that the vest had gone then. I swear this vest produced is the one I washed."
