Arthur Walsh was the second Baron Ormathwaite, having succeeded his father to the title in 1881. He was born on 14th April 1827 and educated at Eton and Trinity College. He married Lady Katherine Somerset, a daughter of the Duke of Beaufort, and they had 7 sons and 3 daughters. Their home was at Eywood, Titley, Herefordshire.

He was a Captain in the Life Guards and became an honorary colonel of the Third Battalion South Wales Borderers. He was very active in public life - becoming MP for Leominster between 1865-8 and then for Radnorshire between 1868-80; he was Lord Lieutenant for the county between 1875-95, a JP, and Chairman of Radnorshire County Council.

He died in 1920.
