Llanbister Cantal School
In 1891, the primary school at Llanbister Cantal was under the supervision of the principal teacher Mr David Roberts, "Second Class Cert'd teacher". His wife supervised the sewing classes and some of the infants classes. As can be seen from the census, Mr Roberts took up his post after moving from Christchurch, Chester, where his daughter had been born the previous year.
